With the e-Grifn, you can go further, longer, and higher than ever before.
These bikes utilize the Mahle X20 drive unit for its very natural riding feel. This compact and proven system makes the impossible possible. The assistance is proportional to the force you apply to the pedals, achieved through the use of a torque sensor in the bottom bracket communicating with the software. You feel like you are always riding with a delightful breeze at your back, making every journey feel like a sporty endeavor.
An advantage of the X20 motor is that it runs virtually without additional mechanical resistance above the limit of 25 kilometers per hour. The power delivery of the system gradually fades out, ensuring a very fluid bike experience. This also contributes to the natural feeling on the bike. Moreover, you can control the motor with your smartphone via the Mahle app and customize it to your preferences. The system even adapts to your riding behavior.
With Mahle X20, there are three levels of bike assistance tailored specifically for the Grifn by the product managers in collaboration with Mahle. This 'custom mapping' is a typical example of the eternal quest for perfection.
The geometry of the e-Grifn is the same as that of the Grifn RS, with a removable front derailleur clamp, space for tires up to 42 millimeters, and the UDH hanger. The battery is neatly integrated into the frame, maintaining the sporty look of the e-Grifn.
Features:
- Mahle X20 drive unit provides a natural ride experience. This compact and proven system delivers 65 Nm of torque and up to 275 W of peak power. Its assistance is proportional to the force applied to the pedals, thanks to a torque sensor in the bottom bracket that constantly communicates with the software. Above the 25 km/h support limit, the system runs virtually without additional mechanical resistance, guaranteeing a smooth and fluid riding experience. The X20 is now also fully UDH compatible.
- Optimized tire clearance: For the E-Grifn, Ridley opts for a slightly wider tire clearance compared to the Grifn, offering 42 millimeters to handle a variety of gravel obstacles.
- Mahle battery with the largest capacity (350Wh), with the option to expand it further with a 171 Wh range extender that replaces a water bottle holder. The battery can be charged to 80% in 2 hours and fully in 3.5 hours.
- Custom mapping: With the Mahle X20, you have three levels of bike assistance, specifically tailored for the Grifn. Switching between the different assistance levels can be done via the satellite buttons on the handlebars or via the controller on the top tube. The system is ANT+ compatible.
- Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH): This derailleur hanger is compatible with all modern shifting groups and protects against derailleur breakage and chain drops.
- All-road geometry: The geometry is the superb overlap of a stiff racing- and a tolerant off-road frame, resulting in a reactive and nimble riding feel while keeping stable handling on off-road terrain.
- Two worlds, one bike: With the Grifn family, you can hit the road as well as the off-road by simply changing wheelsets.
