woom Bikes - Lightweight Kids Bikes

What are woom bikes?

woom bikes are lightweight kids bikes designed in Vienna, Austria, woom makes bikes for kids only from balance bikes for toddlers to bigger bikes for riders up to 14. Each one is sized around the child who’ll be riding it, with kid-sized saddles, narrower grips and brake levers that small hands can reach.

woom also makes helmets and accessories, including the READY Kids’ Helmet, which has a magnetic buckle and a dial at the back to adjust the fit as your child grows.

Why choose a woom lightweight kids bike?

Because a lighter bike is easier for a child to ride. A heavy bike makes hard work of every hill and every start, but the latest woom 3 weighs just 5.4 kg. That makes it easier to pedal, steer and stop, and the confidence comes quickly.

You'll see three names across the range. woom GO is the newest version of the classic woom bike and covers sizes 1 to 4. It replaces woom ORIGINAL, which is still available while stocks last. woom EXPLORE takes over from size 4 to 6, for older kids who want to ride further. For a closer look at every model, have a read of our guide to woom bikes.

Shop the woom Kids Bikes Range

Start with the woom 1, a balance bike for ages 1.5 to 3.5 that helps little ones find their balance before pedals come into it. Once they’re ready to pedal, the woom 2 (ages 3 to 4.5) and the woom 3 (ages 4 to 6) are the natural next steps. The woom 4 suits ages 6 to 8 and comes as either the woom GO 4 or the woom EXPLORE 4. For ages 7 to 11, the woom 5, now called the woom EXPLORE 5, is ready for longer rides and bigger adventures.

woom FAQs

Are woom bikes good?

Yes, the biggest reason is how light they are. woom bikes are some of the lightest kids bikes you can buy, so your child can pedal, steer and stop without a struggle. Everything from the saddle to the brakes is sized for small riders, which makes learning to ride easier.

Can you put training wheels on a woom bike?

We wouldn't, and neither would woom. Training wheels (stabilisers) stop kids learning to balance and the habits they pick up can be hard to unlearn. A balance bike like the woom 1 teaches balance, steering and braking first, so the move to pedals is much easier.

Where are woom bikes made?

woom bikes are designed in Vienna, Austria, where the brand started in 2013, they're built in partner factories in Europe and Asia.

What is the difference between woom GO and woom ORIGINAL?

woom GO is simply the newest version of woom ORIGINAL, with a new name and a few updates. The bikes are easier for beginners to get on with, the saddles and handlebars have been redesigned, and handy markings make it easier to adjust the bike as your child grows. woom GO covers sizes 1 to 4, and older kids can move on to woom EXPLORE for sizes 4 to 6.
