Which pedals are right for you will depend on where you ride and how you ride. There are three main categories of pedals, Flat's, Mountain Bike Clipless and Road Clipless. Flat pedals can be used with any type of footwear, but clipless pedals require cleats (these usually come with the pedals) and shoes which are specific to the style of pedal you are buying (2 or 3 bolt).
