Brand new for 2017, the Cross Hybrid SL Allroad 500 represents the pinnacle of our versatile Cross range. Our designers wanted a bike that cut no corners in the pursuit of the ultimate blend of comfort, safety and performance. That's why they selected components like the RockShox fork and 11-speed XT transmission - because when you demand the very best, you expect your bike to be able to deliver.

There's a very good reason that we poured all of our experience developing mountain bike frames into the Cross Hybrid SL Allroad: it's the best way to ensure that it has the strength, stiffness and stability to make the best of Bosch's astonishing power unit. Features like the complex hydroformed down tube, double butted Aluminium Superlite tubes and tapered head tube build into a chassis that's built to take on almost literally anything. New for 2017, the gravity cast motor mount integrates drive unit and battery seamlessly into the frame structure, providing even better efficiency, clean looks and the ability to charge the battery without removing it. It's practical, too - our 3D forged dropouts made it easy for us to include our kickstand and a pair of SKS mudguards, and fitting a luggage carrier would be an easy upgrade. And, of course, keeping the battery low in the frame also lowers the centre of gravity, which helps give the Cross Hybrid SL Allroad the intuitive, lively but safe handling you'd expect from CUBE.

You'd expect an e-bike of this calibre to feature Bosch's peerless CX system with 500Wh battery - so, naturally, that's what we fitted. But we didn't stop there. We raided RockShox's catalogue for their superb Paragon Gold fork, which delivers plush and easily adjustable bump absorption in any and all circumstances. Then we added Shimano's XT hydraulic disc brakes, to help you keep your speed in check and bring you safely to a stop. Schwalbe's Smart Sam tyres provide all-weather grip, XT hubs give the ultimate in smooth reliablity and, of course, there's a full XT 11-speed transmission. With an 11-46 tooth cassette and Shimano's legendary reliability, you're assured of smooth shifting in any situation. SKS mudguards and our own CUBE kickstand round off the peerless spec list.
